Future of Networking

How we will Network in the next 2 years.

The future of networking effectively in future with your ideal client lies within your Smartphone. Google, Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare have led the charge in how we share information on who we are, where we are and what we do.

Given the recent developments, two main areas will be key to technology that drives how we network in the future; Location based services (GPS) and platforms that group niche markets. Facebook and Twitter have led the growth of groups and lists, while Foursquare and Facebook Places have made users open to the idea of checking in at their location. The problem users face with twitter and facebook is the excess stream of information and useless information. Foursquare and Facebook Places still don't connect individuals with relevant or push notifications.

While twitter tells people what we are doing, Foursquare where we are and Facebook what we did; no application has been able to effectively sync this technology together. The ability to connect unknown users that are nearby, who have a commonality or interest will be key to the future of technology in networking.

This is how I believe it will work; you will be able to open your application with your profile, with an outline of who you want to meet and see how many of them are nearby. It would allow you to initiate the conversation with the person and potentially meet up then and there.

The new GetHitched Mobi iPhone application is a concept that highlights most of these traits within the singles market. The technology is now available to other niche markets (i.e. pet lovers, wine drinkers, clubs or specific events) to own a GPS platform for their community. GetHitched Mobi technology is been reskinned for other markets and groups to enjoy.

A decentralisation of information into specific communities and a focus on place and commonality will drive technology in how we connect and interact. However people will not stay online, the technology that allows people to move the connection offline quickly and efficiently will lead the pack on how we network.
